How to beat a billion other pages and get on Google’s top listings

This is one of those posts which are worthy only because the numbers involved are stupendous. I mean ‘Get Your Website On Google’s First Page’ is a term contested by over one billion other pages. Yep! One point three billion to be precise and the post was written in January 2010 so it’s recent. Yet, against such stiff competition, it appears on the number 13 spot on Google (and it will probably rise higher) beating out others who have been there much longer, have bigger websites and greater SEO budgets.

At Help MY SEO the proof of the pudding is, always for us, in the eating and I drove this page there using exactly the same techniques detailed in SEO Help: 20 steps to get your website to the first page of Google. Neat, right? Yep and the thing is irrespective of how detailed my own search engine knowledge is, what I did to get it there are things which anyone can do. That’s the really neat thing about it.
